Stands are special powers gained through Corpse Parts or Arrow Shards.

Rarity and Obtainment

There are 4 tiers of Stands: Common, Rare, Evolved, and Unique.

Arrow Shards

From Arrow Shards, there is an equal chance (50/50) to get a Common or a Rare Stand.

Corpse Parts

When using a Corpse Part, the game completes a series of checks to determine your Stand. If you hit the required % chance, you get the designated Stand. Otherwise, it passes to the next check:

  • If the part is a Saint's Heart and the player has a 15 killstreak → 16% chance for D4C (Unique).
  • If the player is holding out a Lasso when they merge with the part → 100% chance for Oh Lonesome Me (Unique).
  • If the part is a Left Arm → 6% chance for Tusk (Unique).
  • If the player has Mastered Spin → 10% chance for BallBreaker (Unique).
  • Fallback roll (if none of the above trigger) → 95% Common / 5% Rare.

Evolved Stands

Evolved Stands are obtained through taking certain actions with a Stand you already have (e.g., Star Platinum: The World).

Shiny Skins

There is a 5% chance to receive a Shiny (alternate colour) skin when obtaining a Stand from a Corpse Part.

Damage Penalty

Having a Stand will reduce your gun and Spin damage:

  • Standless → 100% damage.
  • Non-Humanoid Stand users → 95% damage.
  • Humanoid Stand users → 85% damage.
  • If you are a Vampire and have any Stand → additional -15% damage penalty (stacking with the above).
  • Note: Some guns may not be affected by your Stand at all.

Advanced Mechanics

Blocking

Almost all Humanoid Stands can block by pressing F (Tusk and The Fool are exceptions to this rule — they can block as well, despite their classification).

Bullet Reflection

If your Stand has a Speed stat of B or higher, you will deflect bullets while barraging.

Timestop Stands

Stands that can stop time deal 75% reduced damage during the timestop, and damage per hit is capped at 60.

Piloted Stands

Whilst using a piloted Stand, both your Stand and your main body can be shot, take damage and get killed.
